Eric M. Hoenicke, MD, is an independent heart surgeon at Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas. He delivers minimally invasive heart care and open heart surgery to open narrow arteries, restore blood flow to the heart, repair leaky heart valves and surgically correct chronic AFib. As one of our cardiovascular specialists, Dr. Hoenicke is part of an integrated, national network of heart care specialists, offering evaluation and treatment of the most complex heart conditions. His areas of interest include transplantation, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, VAD, mitral surgery, arterial revascularization for coronary arterial disease and surgical treatment of thoracic oncology.

Dr. Hoenicke is originally from Midland, Michigan. He earned his medical degree from The University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan and completed his general surgery residency at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Dr. Hoenicke is board-certified in thoracic surgery and completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Hoenicke is a member of the Michigan Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Before joining CTVS, Dr. Hoenicke practiced with West Michigan Cardiothoracic Surgeons in Muskegon Michigan.
