Laurie W. Flynn, MD, is a board-certified, experienced breast surgeon at Ascension St. John in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Flynn diagnoses and treats women and men with breast cancer, lymph node tumors and other breast diseases. Every appointment with Dr. Flynn starts with a conversation. She takes the time to answer all your questions - big and small.
Dr. Flynn has a clinical interest in breast cancer, breast masses, abnormalities of the nipple and areola, mastitis, etc. and specializes in many types of breast surgery, including lumpectomy, Hidden Scar™ breast cancer surgery, nipple-sparing surgery, mastectomy, and breast reconstruction. With our multispecialty approach, she works with a team of specialists to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care.
Specializing in breast surgery, Dr. Laurie Flynn earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and her bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi. She completed her residency in general surgery at the Baptist Health System of Alabama, where she served as chief resident, and her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; she then completed an intensive course in cancer risk assessment with the City of Hope.
Dr. Flynn previously served as the surgical director at the Leta Chapman Breast Center, a cancer liaison physician at St. John Medical Center and the medical director for the St. John Breast Center. She is a member of eight various scientific and medical societies and has published and spoken on a variety of topics.
Dr. Flynn has also been awarded The Breast Journal Award by the American Society of Breast Disease.
