About Michelle L Lubetzky, MD

Michelle Lubetzky, MD, is an independent, board-certified transplant nephrologist at the Abdominal Transplant Center, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. She specializes in internal medicine, nephrology, and kidney and pancreas transplantation, providing comprehensive care for patients with end-stage kidney disease before and after transplant.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Lubetzky serves as an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in nephrology and transplantation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Lubetzky is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care that supports patients throughout every stage of the transplant journey. Her clinical interests include kidney transplant evaluation, post-transplant immunosuppression management, and the prevention and treatment of transplant-related complications.

Her research focuses on biomarkers for assessing kidney transplant health, management of failing kidney allografts, and frailty in kidney transplant patients. Dr. Lubetzky is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation, where she also serves on several community practice committees.
