About Bassem Matta, MD
Bassem Matta, MD, is a board-certified, independent gastroenterologist at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. He diagnoses and treats gastrointestinal (GI) diseases and disorders in adults.

Dr. Matta received his medical degree with distinction from American University of Beirut. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Duke University where he was elected to receive the prestigious Bruce Dixon Award.
Dr. Matta then pursued a fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), after which he went on to complete an additional fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at NYU Langone under world renowned Professor Gregory Haber.
