About Julian S Winocour, MD
Julian Winocour, MD, FRCSC, FACS, is an independent, double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction, microsurgery, and aesthetic plastic surgery at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, Tennessee. He has extensive expertise in all forms of breast reconstruction, including implant-based reconstruction, microsurgical free tissue transfer (DIEP flap and other perforator flaps), breast resensation procedures, revision breast reconstruction, and complex reconstructive surgery. He also performs aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Winocour has a strong academic interest in clinical outcomes, patient safety, and innovation in plastic surgery. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, contributed numerous book chapters, and has presented his work nationally and internationally.
Dr. Winocour received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in 2008. He completed residency training in General Surgery at the University of Toronto, followed by Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He then completed fellowship training in Microvascular and Breast Reconstruction Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Winocour served on the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before joining the University of Colorado as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery. During his time at the University of Colorado, he served as Director of the Microvascular Breast Reconstruction Fellowship and Associate Program Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program, where he trained the next generation of plastic surgeons.
