Daniel P. Shmorhun, MD

Daniel Shmorhun, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist with The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease in patients of all ages ranging from developing babies (fetus), newborns and children to adults. Dr. Schmorhun cares for those with many different heart conditions, including: arrhythmia and other irregular heartbeats, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, heart murmur, hyperlipidemia, long QT syndrome, and others. Dr. Schmorhun specializes in pediatric electrophysiology, in which he evaluates and treats heartbeat abnormalities (arrhythmias) and performs heart catheterization procedures, such as catheter ablation, pacemaker implantation, and defibrillator implantation. Dr. Shmorhun is an affiliate faculty member in both the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care and the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Shmorhun served in the U.S. Navy as a pediatric electrophysiologist until 2012, when he joined Children's Cardiology Associates in Austin. He is a member of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at Dell Children's Medical Center is a collaboration between Dell Children’s Medical Center at Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. The main office is in Austin, with additional locations for your family’s convenience in Cedar Park, Kyle, Waco, and College Station.
