About

Jeffrey Root, MD, is a general surgeon with Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart  Sacred Heart Surgical Services- Port St. Joe. Dr. Root is board-certified in general surgery and provides surgical care to adults.

Dr. Root has special interests in laparoscopic surgery, colon and rectal surgery, acute care surgery, melanoma/skin cancer surgery, and endoscopies-colonoscopy/EGD. He strives to foster a patient-physician partnership, addressing individual needs in a compassionate and timely manner, and providing quality and individualized surgical care.

Outside the office, Dr. Root loves to travel abroad, spend time outdoors and play recreational soccer. One of his favorite things to do is stand up paddle board (SUP).  He is married with two children and two dogs.
