Dr Garas did the first TAVR in NE Florida in 2011 and has been a leader in bringing new technology and advances to Jacksonville. He is involved in clinical research and was the only investigator in Florida to participate in the RESPECT PFO closure trial in 2002. Currently, he is a principal investigator for the landmark ENCIRCLE trial for Mitral valve replacement.
