Ryan Hawks, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with more than15 years of experience. He provides specialized, comprehensive careto patients with a range of surgical needs, including trauma, adultcritical care, and general surgery servicesDr. Hawks came to Pensacola from practicing trauma and acute caresurgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Fort Walton BeachMedical Center. He previously led the Special Operations SurgicalTeam (SOST) at Hurlburt Field and practiced general surgery at EglinAir Force Base. Dr. Hawks is a colonel in the U.S. Air Force ReserveCommand and a veteran of 10 deployments in support of U.S. Army,Navy, Air Force and Marine Special Operations Forces on fourcontinents. He was also deployed with the first medical and surgicalteams to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. He is a recipient ofnumerous awards, including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious ServiceMedal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the HumanitarianService Medal. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery anda member of the Special Operations Medical Association, theAmerican Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association.
