Rafael E. Cabrera Salinas, MD

Rafael E Cabrera, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine (Cardiovascular Disease) and Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He also has a board certification in adult echocardiogram by the National Board of Echocardiography. He joined Ascension Medical Group Via Christi in 2016.

Dr. Cabrera chose a career in medicine to help people in need and to provide comfort to patients and their family members. He chose this specialty because he was fascinated with the physiology of the heart and its relationship with the rest of the body. The most rewarding thing about being a doctor to him is seeing his patients improve, feel better and do activities they weren't able to do before treatment.

Dr. Cabrera is originally from Lima, Peru but loves Wichita's friendly people. His alternative career choice would be as a sports journalist, because of his love for sports. When he's not in the office, Dr. Cabrera is watching sports (especially soccer and tennis), playing with his children and spending quality time with his family. Dr. Cabrera's weakness is a good piece of chocolate, he just can't resist it.
