Keith Horner, MD, his sister Patricia Wilcox, MD, Patricia's husband Robert Wilcox, MD, and Dr. Horner's daughter Madison Freeman, PA-C, aren't just colleagues. They're family.

Together, they bring more than 100 years of combined experience in healthcare, united by a shared commitment to caring for the families of Waco and surrounding communities.

"Our family dynamic is that we want to help people," said Dr. Patricia Wilcox. "It's great to have our family with other families."

That sense of connection is felt every day in the practice. While each clinician brings their own expertise and perspective, they share a common purpose: building relationships and helping patients live healthier lives.

For Dr. Horner, one of the greatest joys of his career has been watching his daughter follow a similar path into family medicine.

"It's been a blessing," he said. "It's great to see her as both a mother and a care provider. We're in the same practice together, and it's great to collaborate and talk about patients. It warms my heart when patients tell me how much they appreciate her care."

For Madison, joining the profession– and eventually working alongside her family members, felt like a dream realized.

"It was amazing getting to see all three of them practice medicine," she said. "They're such an inspiration. They helped me find my pathway as a PA. Having that knowledge and having people who poured into me throughout my life was such a gift."

Today, she brings her own perspective to patient care while continuing a family legacy rooted in service and compassion. "It's truly a dream come true," Madison said.

Different strengths, one mission

While they share the same commitment to family medicine, each member of the team contributes unique strengths.

Dr. Patricia Wilcox is recognized for her leadership and mentorship. Dr. Robert Wilcox brings decades of experience caring for patients and families across generations. Dr. Horner is known for the relationships he has built throughout the community over the course of his career. His dedication to caring for patients was recently recognized by the community when he was voted 1st Place Primary Care Physician in Wacoan Magazine's Best of Waco awards. Madison offers a fresh perspective while continuing the values that shaped her journey into healthcare.

Together, they create a collaborative environment where ideas are shared, challenges are discussed, and patients remain at the center of every decision. "We inspire each other to find ways to help patients and families," said Dr. Horner. "It's a privilege. We get to be a part of people's lives and hear their stories."

That privilege is one of the reasons family medicine continues to be so meaningful for the group.

"It gives us a unique opportunity to meet people at a point of need," Dr. Robert Wilcox added. "You get those one-on-one moments with people that many professions don't experience."
