Ascension Via Christi stroke nurse took on the role as patient during her birthing experience and appreciated the care she received from her coworkers.

Lenzi Kaub, APRN, program leader of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, knows great care from the work she and her team provides.

That’s why Lenzi was thrilled to have her own great patient experience at the Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph NewLife Center. "Huge shout to every single person we encountered at St. Joe as we delivered our sweet baby boy," she wrote in a recent social media post. "You all deserve kudos!"

This social media kudos was a verbal or written recognition about the care Lenzi received during her birthing experience.

"Of course, I'm biased, but the nurses were all amazing," she wrote."Especially my main nurse, who helped me have the most amazing birth experience ever. She's the sweetest and definitely knows her stuff!"

Lenzi says that when she arrived for her scheduled induction, she became nervous when her labor wasn’t moving as quickly as they wanted. One of her nurses suggested she try different birthing positions to get the baby ready for delivery.. "It took one push and he was out," she said.

Her husband, Ryan, was also impressed by how he was included in the birthing experience by supporting her through labor and talking with nurses.

In comparison to the birth of her first child, Lenzi felt like this birthing experience was “all so smooth this time.” She credits the ease of her labor and delivery to her care team for their kindness and communication."I could see our service expectations being demonstrated by every single member of the team," she said.
