Blood and Marrow Transplant Center of Kansas
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Center of Kansas is a cooperative effort of Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, the Cancer Center of Kansas and the American Red Cross.
Burn Center

Cardiac rehabilitation
Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation specialists at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis work with you to strengthen your heart and lungs and help manage your symptoms. During cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, we monitor your heart, nutrition and lifestyle changes to help lower your cholesterol and blood pressure to improve your overall health. We also help you cope with stress by providing support to you and your family.
Your care team can also connect you to the care you need through recovery, including:
- Heart nutrition counseling
- Medication anticoagulation management
- Transitional care, bridging next steps once home, including fitness and wellness options.
Cardiovascular research and clinical trials
Our doctors at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis are committed to being leaders in cardiovascular research, working to help improve how we diagnose and treat heart and vascular diseases. Your doctor may recommend a clinical trial as part of your care. And you can talk to your cardiologist if you are interested in participating in clinical trials.

Emergency Room and Level 1 Trauma Center
- Staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nursing staff certified in advanced cardiac life support
- Level I Trauma Center works with air-ground transport teams in your area to provide 24-hour critical care for trauma injuries.
- Regional Burn Center treats adult and pediatric burn patients in a 12-bed, technologically advanced unit
- Pediatric-friendly ER designed to provide a more “ouchless” experience for children
- Level 3 Geriatric Accreditation ensures care specially designed for older adults

Heart Care
Ascension Via Christi's structural heart program treats patients with cardiac valve disease with procedures such as MitraClip and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Located in the ChildLife Center in Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, the Ascension Via Christi Suctioning Clinic is open 24 hours and is accessible by prescription-only.
Transitional Care Clinic
Ascension Via Christi Transitional Care Clinic provides primary care to patients who are not established with a primary care doctor in the community. Patients eligible for care are those in need of medical services following a recent hospitalization or emergency room visit.
Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Therapy
Ascension Via Christi Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Therapy brings together doctors, nurses and therapists with specialized training in treating chronic wounds.
Wellness Program
