At 911 North Shelby Street, Ascension St. Vincent Salem is a critical access care facility with a 24/7 emergency department, and a variety of medical specialists provides all levels of compassionate care from minor to complex care.
We are part of the Indiana Heart Attack Network which includes the experienced St. Vincent Heart Center physicians. A cardiac clinic and cardiac rehab are onsite. The surgical team represents general surgery, endoscopic and orthopedic expertise. Our orthopedic program for joint replacement provides pre-op education classes and a strong rehabilitative program. Our swing bed program offers continued skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapies. If needed, skilled rehab care is also onsite.

Rural and Urban Access to Health (RUAH) is a community based care coordination program sponsored by St. Vincent Medical Group. Inspired by the work of St. Vincent de Paul, the purpose of RUAH is: To connect our friends, family and neighbors to a comprehensive, integrated delivery network of health, human and social services resulting in improved access and removal of barriers to needed resources.
