Vision tests and treatments for children

young boy wearing glasses Experienced care teams provide high-quality diagnostic eye and vision tests. During a vision test, our pediatric ophthalmology care team helps your child feel comfortable by explaining the test and using equipment specifically designed for children. A child’s eye health can be related to other health conditions, such as autoimmune disease, a developmental abnormality or neurological condition. We connect you with other pediatric specialists at Dell Children’s Medical Center, if needed.

Pediatric surgical care for eye conditions

Our ophthalmologists are also trained eye surgeons and provide surgical care for eye injuries and other emergencies. For some eye conditions, a procedure may be part of your child’s care plan. Your child’s care team takes the time to explain the procedure to you and your child. Tell us your concerns and ask us your questions — big and small. We also explain what to expect before surgery and how to care for your child after surgery.
