We’re here for you when you need us most
We’re here for you every day. If you or a loved one is experiencing a cardiovascular emergency, our ER doctors and care teams work closely with the Ascension Providence heart and stroke care network. Together, our first responders, ER care team and our hospital’s medical-surgical intensive care teams provide advanced care. For critical trauma injuries, our ER care team collaborates with its members to determine what the best plan of care should be for you.

Pediatric emergency care
In addition to the main Dell Children’s Medical Center located in Central Austin, Dell Children’s has expanded emergency care services at Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson’s Emergency Department. This means you can now get Dell Children’s Emergency Care, closer to home at the Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson. Your child will have access to:
- ER protocols specific to kids
- Access to Dell Children’s physicians
- Kid-friendly exam rooms
- Staff trained specifically to care for kids
Reasons to seek emergency care at Ascension Providence
Ascension Providence ER care teams offer treatment for signs or symptoms of a major health emergencies, including:
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Open fractures
- Severe bleeding
- Head injury or other trauma
- One-sided weakness or numbness, or seizure
- Severe stomach pain
- Bites or stings
- Suspected drug overdose -shallow breathing, unresponsiveness, slow heart rate

The Emergency Room doctors and care teams at Ascension Providence Emergency Department are equipped to help meet the needs of patients of all ages, including geriatric and pediatric care. Dell Children’s Emergency care is available onsite as well. We are located on the campus of Ascension Providence, which means specialty physicians are also available on an on-call basis. In addition, our ER care teams maintain communication with your primary care doctor to make sure you continue to receive the care you need.
Minor Emergency Care
With enhanced triage capabilities, patients are quickly assessed for their care needs. Minor emergencies are treated in our enlarged Minor Emergency Care facility. The Minor Emergency Care facility is equipped with 12 beds and is open 16 hours a day. With its own dedicated area, the minor Emergency Care provides a high level of compassionate care with a reduced wait time.
