Patient and family resources
At Ascension Sacred Heart, we are committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to all. Our patient resources below provide information about our services and tips for planning your visit with us.
Parking and valet options
At Ascension Sacred Heart, we offer convenient parking and valet parking, if needed. Talk to your care team if you have transportation needs. If you are having a test or outpatient procedure, you may be entering at a specific entrance. Ask if you will need a designated driver to take you home. Please do not block or park at the ER entrance.
Most of our entrances have a welcome desk with staff who will direct you to where you need to go. Once you arrive in one of our departments, our team will help you check in. Wheelchairs are available, if needed. During your check-in, our care team will:
- Provide you with consent forms
- Verify insurance coverage
- Provide you with an identification band (for inpatient care)
Visitor policies
You may feel more comfortable bringing a family member or friend with you to the hospital. Our general visitor policy allows for visitors between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. For the comfort of patients and visitors, it is recommended that only two people visit at one time. In most cases, one adult (18 years or older) will be allowed to stay overnight. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Some departments have additional visitor policies. Please understand that our policies are designed to help keep you safe and allow you to heal. Visitation policies are subject to change. Please call PHONE NUMBER HERE for the latest information.
Support of family and friends is very important to health and healing. Family members and friends are welcome. However, the health and well-being of all our patients is our primary concern. We ask that family and friends be mindful of the following guidelines:
- Please note that special policies apply for intensive care and other select units. Please check with the specific unit or the information desk.
- If any family member or friend has a cold, flu, runny nose, cough, fever, diarrhea, rash or contagious disease, please ask that person not to visit.
- Children must be supervised by an adult (18 years or older and not the patient) at all times during the visit.
- Noise levels should be kept to a minimum in order to promote health and healing and as a courtesy to others.
- Under special circumstances or in the case of extended stays, a patient’s pet may be allowed to visit during his or her hospital stay. Visits must be arranged in advance. Please discuss your request with the patient’s nurse prior to the pet’s visit.
Dining options
If you are visiting our campus, we offer several dining options. Please do not bring food or beverages to a patient unless you speak with their nurse first.
Family and friends are welcome to share a meal with you. They may buy food from our cafeteria, where they may choose from a selection of hot entrees, fresh salads, ethnic foods, and deli-style sandwiches. Or, guests may use our in-room guest tray service and order menu items directly from the Food Service representative. A charge for the guest tray will be collected when the tray is delivered.
A selection of hot entrees, fresh salads, ethnic foods and deli-style sandwiches are available at the Garden Café, located on the Garden Level (G). Hours are daily from 6:30 – 10 a.m.; 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; 4 – 6:30 p.m. Vending machines are located throughout the hospital and available 24 hours a day.
