Our surgeons have a history of being advanced care leaders in Central Texas. Within the Seton Surgical Group, we routinely perform single incision laparoscopic surgery to remove the gallbladder. All of our surgeons have extensive training in the latest surgical techniques. We specialize in advanced care for reflux disease (heartburn), gallbladder and colon surgery, and hernia repair.

At Ascension Medical Group Seton Surgery in Austin, Texas, our surgical team provides emergency care and inpatient hospital care when a surgical patient with a trauma injury, infection, or acute inflammation needs advanced care. The surgical group is highly experienced in the latest treatment techniques for critically ill surgical patients.

Reflux

If your heartburn and indigestion symptoms have started to interfere with your daily life, you may have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or acid reflux. GERD happens when stomach acid rises into your esophagus, irritating its lining. We know how uncomfortable GERD symptoms such as heartburn, chest pain, difficulty swallowing and coughing can be. That's why our team is ready to help you manage your condition with the latest evaluations, procedures and techniques. We'll assist you with treatment options as unique as your health needs.

Gallbladder Surgery

Gallbladder attack can be frightening but is easily diagnosed and treated. Signs of a gallbladder attack include experiencing pain underneath the right rib cage, and it can radiate to the back. The pain usually occurs 30 minutes to two hours after eating high fat foods. There is often a feeling of bloating, nausea and occasionally vomiting associated with the pain. Surgical removal of the gallbladder is usually the only permanent treatment. This can usually be completed with minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery. After surgery, most patients leave the hospital the same day and are back to doing all their normal activities within two weeks.

Hernia Repair

Our surgeons can repair a variety of hernias, including groin hernias, incisional hernias and other abdominal wall hernias.
