No. Any active person who is experiencing injury or illness related to their activity should seek care from a sports medicine doctor. Our sports medicine specialists are experts regarding activity-related injuries and conditions and will develop a plan with you with the goal of getting you back to what you love.

What is platelet-rich plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are a type of minimally invasive orthobiologic treatment that help reduce pain, promote healing and restore function. A PRP injection is made from your own blood using plasma-rich platelets separated from your blood cells and injected back into your body. PRP therapy uses the platelets in your blood because it contains nutrients and proteins that help encourage new cell growth. Plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow are some conditions treated with PRP injections. This treatment is also used to treat inflamed tendons and ligaments in the knee and hip.
