We offer a range of services on our campus, with convenient valet parking. Transportation to and from appointments can be arranged for you. And we offer an extended care team for emotional support — chaplain, palliative care specialist and oncology-certified social worker. Advanced tests help target cancer cells and tumors
Our cancer care team does a thorough medical evaluation and uses a range of tests to diagnose your condition. We offer easy scheduling for tests at:
3D mammograms, breast MRI, and low-dose CT lung scans are high-definition image studies that help improve the detection of hard-to-find cancers. Other services include biopsy procedures, advanced radiology imaging, minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, ultrasound-image-guided procedures of the chest and abdomen, and more. We also offer tumor testing for personal molecular targets and hereditary cancer genes (for example, BRCA genes, Lynch syndrome, BFAF mutations, germline and tumor cells).
Medical oncology treatments are provided in a comfortable infusion center. Chemotherapy and other treatments may involve oral, intravenous (IV) or topical medication therapy. These treatments may be combined with surgery or other treatments.

Infectious Disease Clinic
At Ascension St. John Hospital Newland Medical Associates our Infectious Disease Clinic delivers care to children and adults with an infectious disease. Board-certified doctors lead our hospital’s infectious disease control programs. We diagnose and treat highly contagious viruses and bacterial infections. And, we help you understand how to improve your hygiene to prevent the spread of germs and promote wound healing. Together, we deliver personalized care that’s right for you.
Infectious disease services
Our doctors and nurses provide specialized care for infections that are difficult to diagnose, include a high fever or don’t respond to treatment. Contact tracing may also be used to determine the source of the infection and potential spread of many diseases, including:
- COVID-19 and SARS
- Ebola
- Hepatitis A
- HIV/AIDS
- Influenza (seasonal or other flu)
- Tuberculosis (TB)
- Hepatitis C
- Wound Care
Diseases spread by parasites, such as malaria, rocky-mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease, can be treated by an infectious disease specialist. We’re equipped to handle public health outbreaks and work with state and local public health officials to analyze environmental and occupational disease spread.

Preventing infectious diseases
Our care team shares family-centered education to help you prevent the spread of infectious illnesses. Tips include:
- Avoid touching your eyes, noses or mouth with your hands
- Don’t drink after others
- Keep your vaccinations are up-to-date
- Prepare your food safely
- Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds
- Wear a mask, if needed, to prevent the spread of airborne germs
