About the Haven of Our Lady of Peace

Haven of Our Lady of Peace is a 120-bed nursing home operated by Sacred Heart Health System and Methodist Homes for the Aging. The Haven's history goes back to 1939 when a brave group of Carmelite Sisters began caring for Pensacola seniors at a home overlooking Perdido Bay.

The Haven has enjoyed a reputation for decades as a place where a dedicated staff provides special care. In 2000, a $10 million construction project began to create a more modern home. In 2001, Haven staff and residents moved to their current home at the intersection of Summit Boulevard and 12th Avenue in Pensacola.

The Haven is divided into four living areas, or "neighborhoods" as we like to call them. Each "neighborhood" feature a homelike atmosphere. This modern design eliminates long corridors often seen in traditional nursing homes. Each room opens to a common dining and activities area, and to a central nursing station.
