Meet Our Providers

Dr. Brenda Taylor

Professional medical care, plus compassion and concern for patients…. Dr. Brenda Carter Taylor is sensitive to the changing medical needs of women. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Taylor is committed to providing advanced medical care for women. She earned her undergraduate degree from Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Mississippi. Upon receiving her Medical Doctorate from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, Dr. Taylor completed a one-year internship and three-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile where she was Chief OB/GYN Resident.

Dr. Taylor is board certified, and has provided services to women in Birmingham and the surrounding area for over 27 years. She is trained in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Dr. Taylor enjoys educating women and has participated in numerous health fairs. She and her children have traveled to Nicaragua, where she provided medical services with an emphasis on sharing that “God loves them and they are not forgotten”. She serves her church, The Word Unlimited, as Trustee, is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Inc. She is a board member of Physician for Life. In her spare time, she also enjoys gardening.

Dr. Taylor’s husband, Robert is a native of Birmingham along with their three children, Robert Demetrius, Christopher Michael and Myrah Elizabeth.

Dr. Gretchen McCreless

Dr. Gretchen McCreless is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Dr. McCreless then completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also participated in research in the area of gynecologic cancer and ovarian masses. She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. McCreless has a passion for women’s health, and she treats women of all ages with all varieties of gynecologic needs, including hormone management, menstrual irregularities, and sexual health. She has a special interest in adolescent gynecology, as well as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Dr. McCreless strives to deliver personalized care for women at all stages of their lives.

Dr. McCreless and her husband Luke welcomed their daughter Eloise in March 2018. They attend the Church of the Highlands where they are very involved in small groups.

Dr. McCreless has fallen in love with The Magic City and loves to explore all that Birmingham has to offer. In her spare time, she loves to travel with her family, and has a passion for maintaining an active lifestyle through a variety of outdoor activities, fitness classes, and gardening.

Dr. Tomeka Roberts

Dr. Tomeka Roberts has proudly served Birmingham with excellent medical care since 2003. Her educational career began at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Roberts attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee before completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and is Board Certified with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Roberts enjoys providing education to both women and girls about making healthy decisions for their bodies. In 2014, Dr. Roberts developed a non-profit called "Not On Our Watch" (NOOW). NOOW was designed to provide an avenue to educate young women, between the ages of 10 – 17 years, on establishing healthy behaviors with their bodies in a fun and safe environment.

Dr. Roberts has utilized her degree in Material Science and Engineering, and developed an innovative and effective feminine hygiene wash, gentle enough for women and adolescents.

She and her husband, Edmond are natives of Birmingham. They enjoy spending time with their children and attending the Church of the Highlands. Her interests include playing the piano and traveling.

Katie Fain, CRNP

Katie Fain is a Nurse Practitioner who was raised in Madison, Alabama.  She began her education at the University of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management.  Mrs. Fain went on to graduate with her Nursing degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and worked as a nurse in Birmingham and in Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Fain decided to continue her education and completed her Master of Science in Nursing from UAB.  Her area of specialty is Women's Health, and during her training she focused on hormone therapy, menopause, menstrual irregularities, and gynecologic health.  Having worked as a nurse in gynecologic oncology, Mrs. Fain enjoys educating women of all ages on preventative screenings and wellness. 

Mrs. Fain lives with her husband, Bill, and their son, Carter in Hoover, AL.  They are active members of the YMCA and enjoy all of the family-friendly activities the area has to offer.  They enjoy exercising together, as well as cooking and travel, and are cherishing their son's toddler years.
