Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery in Brighton, Michigan, recommends the following considerations when packing for inpatient addiction treatment.

How to pack for inpatient treatment

Individuals being admitted for inpatient care should review the list below of what to bring and what not to bring. Patients should be selective about what they bring as all items are the patient’s responsibility. Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery does not accept any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items in the patient’s possession or room. Items of value can be locked in our on-site safe, where they will be stored until either sent home with a family member or returned to the patient upon being discharged from treatment. Patients will not be able to retrieve items from the safe under any other condition during treatment.

  • What should I bring for inpatient rehab care

Patients are limited to the following items that must fit into one suitcase. Total luggage dimensions cannot exceed 9” x 18” x 24” (51” total). This limitation applies for the duration of the patient’s stay, so any additional items brought to the patient after admission will be turned away. All packaged products, such as toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner must be newly purchased and unopened.
