Volunteer organization
The Ascension Calumet Medical Center (CMC) Auxiliary is a group separately incorporated that provides service to Ascension Calumet Hospital. This organization of volunteers is dedicated to the needs of Ascension Calumet Hospital, its patients, visitors and associates. The volunteers assist Ascension Calumet in promoting the health and welfare of the community and conduct fundraising activities for the services of Ascension Calumet, hospital and community health related programs and local student scholarships. The volunteers raise funds through vendor sales and other special events. Committees work on various projects ranging from health education and public policy to chairing fundraisers. In addition, the Ascension Calumet Hospital Gift Shop is staffed and operated by the CMC Auxiliary. All proceeds from the Gift Shop support the Auxiliary.
The CMC Auxiliary is a member of the Partners of the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA). Partners provide a forum for exchanging information about the current hospital environment and how other hospitals are structuring their volunteer programs. They also exchange information about fundraising ideas. The WHA is a political health care lobbying force in Madison. The organization offers opportunities for leadership.
