Advanced care for high-risk pregnancy
Not everyone will need more care during their pregnancy, labor or delivery. But if you do, we are ready to provide you and your baby with extra care. Our maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists work with your OB-GYN to deliver care for high-risk pregnancies and other health concerns, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems and genetic disorders. Satellite outreach clinics across Northwest Florida and South Alabama offer outpatient consultations, as well as genetic and preconception counseling. Your care team will also work with you to help manage your condition after delivery. Our Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at our Pensacola campus and our Level II NICU on our Emerald Coast campus deliver critical care to premature newborns.

Ascension Sacred Heart and Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast are designated as Baby-Friendly hospitals. A Baby-Friendly designation ensures that mothers and babies receive the highest standards of infant feeding care in the first few days of a child’s life. Staff are trained in breastfeeding techniques, mothers and healthy babies stay together after birth and breastfeeding classes and lactation consultants are provided.
