Your Orthopedic Coordinator

Preparing for joint replacement surgery can be overwhelming. At Ascension Genesys Orthopedics, our doctors are committed to providing a safe and comfortable experience for you. In addition to your doctors, you will have the full support of our Orthopedic Coordinator to ensure you have a positive joint replacement experience. The Orthopedic Coordinator is a registered nurse. They will play many roles in your care, including:

  • Support - They will support you and your family as you prepare and recover from surgery.
  • Navigate - They remain a constant caregiver for you in all stages of your joint replacement journey.
  • Educate - They provide educational resources and help answer any questions you may have.
  • Facilitate - They help you to fully understand your doctor's instructions before, during and after surgery.

Our Orthopedic Coordinators work with a variety of highly-trained professionals, including physicians, orthopedic nurses, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists and spiritual care chaplains to provide the best care possible for you. They coordinate transitions between the doctor’s office and the hospital, as well as rehab and home care. The Orthopedic Coordinator may also make contact with you prior to surgery and during your hospital stay. They will check in on you after you go home.

The Orthopedic Coordinator is a single resource for you to call when you have questions about your joint replacement surgery.
