About Us

Anthony L. Soave Family Mobile Mammography at Romeo Plank in Macomb, MI, is a mobile screening center that delivers personalized mammograms.

At Anthony L. Soave Family Mobile Mammography at Romeo Plank in Macomb, Michigan, our mission is to make preventative screenings accessible to the communities we serve. Getting regular screenings may help find breast cancer early, when it is most treatable. That’s why it is important for women to get a mammogram every year, beginning at age 40. Your care team uses advanced diagnostics, including tomosynthesis (3D mammography), to help with early detection. We listen to understand your health concerns and we are dedicated to delivering breast care that is right for you.

Anthony L. Soave Family Mobile Mammography is a free-standing unit frequently located on the campus of Ascension St. John at Romeo Plank; it is not located inside the building

Our mammography services include:

  • 3D digital screening mammogram (tomosynthesis):When used as a screening tool, this 3D imaging technology increases the detection of breast cancer and helps reduce the recall rate for screenings. Tomosynthesis (tomo) screening technology may also improve the chances of finding cancers in dense breast tissue.
  • 2D digital screening mammogram: Two-dimensional (2D) digital mammography is a low-dose X-ray that produces high-quality breast images. This digital image can be enhanced or magnified for optimal viewing.

What to expect before, during and after your appointment

Before you make your appointment, please make sure you have a mammogram referral from your doctor and bring it to your appointment. If you need assistance obtaining a referral, please call us directly at 844-757-6266

On the day of the exam do not wear powder, lotion or deodorant. Always describe any breast symptoms or problems you are having to your technologist who is performing the mammogram. The entire process takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Once your mammogram has been reviewed by a radiologist, your primary care doctor will receive a report with your results and a letter will be mailed to your address.

Ascension St. John Hospital offers financial counseling and assistance to help address any financial concerns patients or families may have regarding their care. Screening mammography is a covered benefit by most insurance companies.

If follow-up tests are needed, we will contact you directly for an appointment at one of our dedicated breast centers.
