Deciding to take part in a clinical trial is personal. The Ascension St. John Hospital Infectious Disease Research Unit team conducts trials that provide innovative medicines, vaccines, and therapies to patients. Clinical trials, also known as research studies, investigate medical treatments and devices to see if they are effective and safe. The investigators are doctors and advanced practice nurses specially trained to perform research and collect data as mandated by federal, state and local guidelines.
Experienced clinical research teams
Our researchers are also trained in human subject protections through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program every three years. Doctors, nurses, and other care teams are part of Ascension St. John’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), a committee that performs ethical reviews of proposed research.
Researchers set guidelines for who can take part in the trial to help make sure it is as safe as possible for you to participate. If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, please call us to learn more about our program.
