About Us

The care team at Ascension Via Christi Sleep Center in Pittsburg in Pittsburg, KS, delivers advanced, personalized care for your sleep disorder.

Symptoms of sleep disorder can include snoring and sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness, shift work sleep disorder, insomnia, irregular sleep-wake schedules, sleepwalking, sleep terrors and other symptoms. A wide variety of other signs and symptoms are also commonly seen in association with sleep disorder, including chest pain, respiratory distress, and headaches. Sleep studies are often conducted as a method for diagnosing sleep disorders.

At Via Christi, patients spend one or more nights in a private and comfortable room during which the patient's physiological functions are measured as the patient sleeps. During the course of the study, extensive data of the patient's sleep activity is collected. This information is analyzed and reviewed by a physician specializing in sleep disorders for diagnosis and determining a course of treatment. Depending on the diagnosis, patients can rent supplies related to their course of treatment from Via Christi Home Medical. Patients requiring a sleep study arrive at Via Christi for their testing in the evening, and leave the following morning; in most cases, it is not necessary to miss a day of work.
