About Us

Ascension's St. Vincent maternal-fetal medicine specialists and OB doctors provide high-risk pregnancy care for mother and baby in Central Indiana.

Pregnancy complications can cause anxiety, and we help care for mother and baby during this time with compassion as well as experience.

We provide MFM services at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, near the St. Vincent main campus on West 86th Street in Indianapolis. To schedule an appointment, please call 317-415-8100.

High-risk pregnancy care

Our care team of MFM specialists, OB GYN doctors, and specially trained nurses help expectant mothers who have an existing condition like high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, or heart disease. Neonatologists and pediatric specialists are also part of the team if the baby has a fetal condition.

Every pregnancy is unique, and your care team will make a personalized plan for you and your baby, sharing it with your doctor. You receive special care and support to make sure you have the safest possible pregnancy and delivery.

At Ascension St. Vincent Women's Hospital, there is a neonatal intensive care and special care nurseries. We also provide many other MFM services, including:

  • Personalized care plan by the MFM doctors and multi-disciplinary team
  • Routine and targeted ultrasound examinations
  • Genetic counseling
  • Prenatal screenings and fetal diagnostic testing
  • Abdominal cerclage (transabdominal cerclage – TAC) procedure used to help prevent miscarriage
  • Co-management of diabetic pregnancies
  • Coordinated care with the St. Vincent Maternity Services nurse navigator

Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

We can also provide critical care for newborns who need extra attention at our Level IV NICU. We are there to take care of you if there are risks or difficulties, such as a baby arriving sooner than expected. Our NICU is supported by MFM specialist, OB doctors, neonatologists and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital pediatric specialists who coordinate care for early and critically ill newborns.

Our Level IV NICU at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis is one of only two top-ranked Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Indiana. We are the only women’s medical hospital to also provide a Level IV Perinatal Center. This combination offers best-in-care-practices to both mother and baby at all stages of the pregnancy and throughout labor and delivery.
