Where is Ascension Illinois Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center located?
We are conveniently located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, on the campus of Ascension Alexian Brothers. Foglia is approximately 13 miles from O’Hare Airport and 30 miles north of Midway Airport.

How do I know residential treatment is right for me?
Residential treatment is a 24-hour, less restrictive level of care. Most people who seek residential treatment have tried partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient therapies. With residential treatment, we help you make more sustainable life changes.

How does the admission process work?
When you call us for information about the residential treatment center (RTC), we will ask for your insurance information to verify if you have coverage here at Foglia. We do all assessments over the phone, talk with you about your current condition, your treatment history, and do a medical screening. We will review that information with our team and determine if the RTC is the right place to treat your presenting condition.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept insurance. Call your insurance provider to verify the level of benefits you have for mental health care. We will also obtain your insurance information and make inquiries on your behalf to determine what your benefits will cover.

Is there a place to exercise?
Yes, the treatment center has a gym with weights and exercise machines.

What does an average day look like?
Daily treatment groups include education, exposure response and prevention (ERP) sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), community groups, mindfulness, exercise, leisure skills, family sessions and visitation (weekends). There is also time for connecting with your therapist or case manager, meeting with your psychiatrist, and community-based outings with your care team and peers.

What ages do you treat?
We treat individuals age 18 and older.

What Is a typical length of stay in the program?
The typical length of stay depends on your program. If you are being treated for a substance use disorder, you may have a three to four-week stay. If you are being treated for anxiety, you may have a five to six-week stay. Times may change due to the degree of your anxiety or substance use.
