Research shows that patients with COVID-19 may experience persistent post-COVID symptoms for up to six months or longer after their initial infection.[1] We are here to help.
Our team of specialists work together to help improve your physical, behavioral and cognitive health for those with long COVID, also known as long-haul COVID, chronic COVID, post-COVID syndrome and post-acute COVID-19 syndrome.
What to expect during your first appointment
During your first 60-minute consultation at Ascension Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital, you will meet with a Shirley Ryan AbilityLab physiatrist. This consultation includes a physical examination. Our first priority is to listen to you and gain a thorough understanding of your health. Your physiatrist may also recommend additional diagnostic tests or connect you with specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavioral health, neurosciences and other related fields.
If you are experiencing acute symptoms for more than 21 days, talk with your doctor.
Physical symptoms:

Mental health symptoms:

Our care team is ready to support your recovery and help coordinate follow-up care. We will connect you to appropriate specialists, including pulmonologists, cardiologists, behavioral health specialists, physiatrists, neurosciences, neuropsychologists, rehabilitation specialists, and more. All of your testing, treatments, and follow-up care is personalized to your needs.
