Board-certified emergency care doctors and care teams at Ascension are trained in advanced life-saving services. From the moment you walk through the door, we deliver compassionate care to help you and your loved ones through an emergency.
Located in the main campus of Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola, the Emergency Department is open and available 24-hours, 7 days-a-week. It is accessible at the Emergency Department entrance on the Ninth Avenue side of the campus.
In addition to the main Emergency Department, Ascension Sacred Heart also offers a Pediatric Emergency Department located in the Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. The Pediatric Emergency Department is staffed by specialists in pediatric emergency care. It is the region's only Pediatric Trauma Center.

We’re here for you every day. If you or a loved one is experiencing a cardiovascular emergency, our ER doctors and care teams work closely with the Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola heart and stroke care network. Together, our first responders, ER care team and our hospital’s medical-surgical intensive care teams provide advanced care. And as the region’s only nationally certified comprehensive stroke center, we are Northwest Florida’s leaders in stroke treatment, brain and spine care.
The Emergency Department at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is the only comprehensive Trauma Center serving the Northwest Florida region that is staffed and equipped to handle life-threatening injuries in adults and children.

Reasons to seek emergency care at AscensionAscension ER care teams offer treatment for signs or symptoms of a major health emergencies, including:
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Open fractures
- Severe bleeding
- Head injury or other major trauma
- One-sided weakness or numbness, or seizure
- Severe stomach pain
- Bites or stings
- Suspected drug overdose -shallow breathing, unresponsiveness, slow heart rate
