Outreach Ministries

We are committed to improving the health of everyone in our community – not just our patients.

Mobile Health Outreach Ministry

The St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Outreach Ministry began in 1991 by providing acute and preventive medical care to the medically under served in our area. Doctors-offices-on-wheels travel to neighborhoods where these services are needed most.

Free primary healthcare is provided to low income, uninsured adults and children in Northeast Florida.  Services include primary care, management of chronic disease, medication assistance, laboratory testing, school & sports physicals and vaccinations.  In addition, general dental care is available for low income, uninsured adults.

For more information about services provided, including program eligibility, please call 904-308-7911.

Faith Community Nursing
Faith Community Nursing connects St. Vincent’s HealthCare with community resources and local church congregations to promote health and wellness. The program and congregation identify the services they need for their members and the services provided evolve based on these conversations.

School Nurse Program

This program places nurses in schools serving children in need. In many cases, the nurses are the only direct access children have to healthcare. Currently, the program has placed nurses in various parochial and public schools in areas where there is the most need.

Mobile Mammography
The St. Vincent’s mobile mammography unit, operating since 2002, was the first in the region. The big pink RV travels thousands of miles each year to bring life-saving screening mammograms to more than 3,000 women. The program is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration. Every mammogram is read by radiologists using the same state-of-the-art technology found at our hospital locations.

Good Samaritan Fund
The Good Samaritan Fund was created in 1959 to help those less fortunate by providing support beyond the high-quality, compassionate medical care provided at St. Vincent’s HealthCare. The Fund helps patients who need financial help with things like prescription medications.
