At Ascension St. Vincent’s Blount Wound Center, we promote wound healing for your total health and well-being. Our wound care specialists treat many types of wounds including burns, diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers, surgical wounds, and hard-to-heal-wounds. We listen to understand your health concerns. Then, we deliver a care plan that’s right for you. 

Wound healing services

Our care team provides treatment options for a range of wounds, including but not limited to:

  • Arterial leg ulcers due to poor blood flow (arterial vascular disease)
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Ischemia or gangrene
  • Osteomyelitis (bone infections)
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Surgical or traumatic wounds
  • Venous leg ulcers due to venous insufficiency disease (venous reflux/venous hypertension)
  • Wounds caused by auto-immune disease such as pyoderma, scleroderma or vasculitis
  • Wounds caused by burns
  • Wounds caused by edema (swelling)
  • Wounds caused by malignancy (cancer)
  • Wounds caused by radiation injury
  • Wounds caused by soft tissue infections

We also deliver outpatient wound care. Your care plan may include:

  • Advanced wound dressings
  • Cellular tissue-based products
  • Compression therapies
  • Epidermal autografting
  • Negative pressure vacuum therapy
  • Weekly debridement of devitalized tissue or biofilms

Our doctors and nurses listen to understand you and your health concerns. We show you how to improve your wound-cleaning hygiene at home as part of your personalized recovery plan.
