Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Postpartum & Newborn Care

Welcome to Postpartum & Newborn Care Class at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford! This course provides a general overview of postpartum care for mom as well as newborn infant care. Some of the topics include: how you care for yourself physically & mentally for the first few weeks along with safe sleep, feedings, soothing and general infant care. We will practice hands-on skills including diapering, bathing and swaddling (you will be PROVIDED a baby doll and supplies for use during your class). A support persona is encouraged to attend the class (No additional fee). The fee includes a booklet, handouts and your session with an in-person class with an instructor. This class is best taken you are 32+ weeks pregnant. This will allow you to better retain the information for when baby arrives.
