Every year, a talented and generous group of adults and students volunteer at Ascension Saint Joseph Joliet. We work together to make a difference in the lives of our patients, their friends and families, and our care teams. Volunteers are active in customer service. They provide office and clerical support, assisting the nursing floors with discharges and performing essential errands throughout the hospital and outpatient care departments.

Why volunteer at Ascension Saint Joseph Joliet?

Many people volunteer because they enjoy caring for and helping others. They are interested in healthcare, or are looking for ways to give back to the community.
  • Students and those interested in a new career can gain exposure to various parts of healthcare before committing to a college major or career path
  • Older adults find volunteering is a great way to stay active and know they are making a meaningful contribution to other people's lives

We invite anyone interested in our mission to volunteer at Ascension Saint Joseph Joliet. Additionally, we require all volunteers to:

  • Commit to a regular schedule of three to four hours per week for a minimum of six months
  • Provide proof of vaccination and two TB skin tests (provided at no cost to you by Associate Health Services)
  • Attend all required training and in-service sessions
