Cancer is personal. So is how we care for you.

You don't have to travel far to get personalized cancer care and support services. Advanced tests help target cancer cells and tumors

Our cancer care team does a thorough medical evaluation and uses a range of tests to diagnose your condition. We offer easy scheduling for tests at:

  • Ascension Illinois Lab Services Elgin
  • Ascension Illinois Imaging Elgin

3D mammograms, breast MRI, and low-dose CT lung scans are high-definition image studies that help improve the detection of hard-to-find cancers. Other services include biopsy procedures, minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, ultrasound-image-guided procedures of the chest and abdomen, and more. We also offer tumor testing for personal molecular targets and hereditary cancer genes (for example, BRCA genes, Lynch syndrome, BFAF mutations, germline and tumor cells).

Medical oncology treatments are provided in a comfortable infusion center. Chemotherapy and other treatments may involve oral, intravenous (IV) or topical medication therapy. These treatments may be combined with surgery or other treatments.

  • Chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Hormone therapy
  • Management of oral targeted therapy

Radiation oncology offers advanced, targeted radiotherapy and radiosurgery to destroy cancer cells and tumors. Our radiation oncology delivery systems use MIM Maestro® software to help track tumors and cancer cells. We offer a range of advanced treatments, including:

  • Brachytherapy
  • External beam radiation therapy (EBRT) with image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT)
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT)
  • TomoTherapy® with a 360-degree delivery system

Surgeons specializing in breast surgery and reconstruction, gastric surgery, lung and chest surgery, and urologic surgery deliver advanced surgical treatments. Minimally invasive techniques are used whenever possible. Image-guided and computer-assisted technology with high-definition navigation helps your surgeon remove a tumor while preserving healthy tissue. Minimally invasive surgery helps promote healing and reduce scarring, for example:

  • Endobronchial thoracic surgery
  • Hidden scar, a breast surgery technique
  • Mohs microsurgery
  • Reconstructive breast plastic surgery
  • Robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Xi system
