Ascension Resurrection needs exceptional people like you to join our teams of volunteers.

Volunteer positions are available seven days per week and include daytime and evening hours. Assignments have been created that balance the needs of the hospital and patients with your areas of interest.

Age requirements

Minimum age of 16 years old at time of application.

Application process

  1. Attend a volunteer orientation
  2. Complete an online volunteer application
  3. Attend an interview session
  4. Complete the following health requirements:
    • One tuberculosis test
    • A health screening for measles, mumps and rubella
    • A health clearance form completed by the volunteer and their doctor
    • A flu shot, performed at no charge, by Associate Health Services upon starting service
  5. Submit information for a criminal background check and orientation paperwork
  6. Purchase and receive your uniform
  7. Receive your volunteer assignment and get started
  8. Complete onsite training in assigned department upon beginning your assignment (mandatory training sessions will also be scheduled annually for all volunteers)

Performance expectations

  • Minimum of at least 75 hours for junior volunteers ages 16-18
  • Minimum of at least 75 hours for volunteers age 18 and older

Volunteers work under the supervision of the volunteer director or an associate in the department where they are volunteering. Areas include:

  • Cancer Center
  • Clerical
  • Crafts
  • Discharge
  • Gift shop
  • Professional Building
  • Information Desk
  • Mailings
  • Outpatient
  • Mail delivery, menus, flower delivery, newspaper delivery
  • Physical Medicine
  • Radiation Oncology
  • S.P.D.
  • Specialized Imaging
  • Surgical waiting rooms
