Ascension Borgess Hospital volunteers donate their time and energy in an effort to make a patient's stay as comfortable as possible. Our volunteers perform duties that lighten the load of our staff, services for patient comfort. Thank you for your interest in volunteering. There isn’t a gift more generous, more compassionate or more appreciated than giving your time.


Volunteer requirements

With their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts – our volunteers make  Ascension Borgess Hospital feel like home. Due to the nature of our work there are a number of requirements that all Ascension volunteers must meet. To volunteer at Ascension Borgess Hospital you must be 18 years or older, and commit to volunteer for at least 6 months. First you will need to complete a volunteer application and undergo a drug screen along with a two-step TB test. Next you will participate in a four-hour orientation and training session. Volunteers are also required to undergo annual TB testing and complete ongoing education initiatives. Uniforms are required any time you are volunteering. These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Ascension Borgess Hospital.
