They are specially trained in heart surgery for premature and full-term babies. We also provide surgical care for children and teens who develop heart conditions.
When you arrive for your consultation, we start by listening to you, to better understand your concerns and your child’s health. Then, we work with you to create a surgery care plan that’s right for your child and your family. Your child’s care team may include cardiovascular surgeons, heart specialists, pediatric anesthesiologists and other pediatric specialists. We work together to deliver around-the-clock care for children who have heart conditions and are recovering from surgery.
Whenever possible, we recommend minimally invasive surgery as a first option. This technique may help lower your child’s risk of infection and may help speed up their recovery time. If your child needs a more-complex surgery, such as open-heart surgery or a heart transplant, our care team is here for you and your family. We help make sure your child and your family understand what to expect before, during and after surgery. And we provide the information you and your family will need to care for your child when you get home.

Getting a second opinion not only provides more information about your child’s condition, but it may also increase your confidence in your child’s diagnosis and care plan.
