COVID-19

At Ascension sites of care, you and your family are connected with the care you need for COVID-19 and other illnesses.

When you choose Ascension hospitals and clinics for care for COVID-19 or other illnesses, you'll find all the care you need, doctors who listen, convenience and care that's connected. Ascension facilities—hospitals, emergency rooms, clinics and offices—continue to follow the highest level of precautions as we care for our patients and communities. And we continue to recommend that everyone who is eligible stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, following the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Getting medical care and testing for COVID-19

It may be difficult to know what to do if you have been exposed to COVID-19. And if you have symptoms, you may not know whether you have symptoms of COVID-19, flu, allergies or another respiratory illness. Find the latest information from the CDC about COVID-19. Find information from the CDC about COVID-19 testing here, or find at-home test kits at your nearest retail pharmacy. And find out more about the CDC recommendations for when to quarantine and isolate, if you have been exposed, have symptoms or test positive.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency or difficulty breathing, go directly to the ER or dial 911. Find the nearest Ascension hospital location.

If you are feeling sick and test positive for COVID-19 with an at-home test and want to see your doctor, call your doctor or provider and ask about the best option for getting care. If you don’t have a doctor, we can help you find a doctor.

If you need to make a new appointment to see a doctor for something unrelated to the coronavirus (COVID-19), call your doctor or schedule an appointment online. We can also help you find a doctor.

If you are pregnant and test positive for COVID-19, you should not delay care. Connect with your doctor right away whether you become ill or test positive. Call to schedule an appointment.

Scheduling and attending appointments unrelated to COVID-19

Thank you for trusting us with your care. We are committed to being there for our patients and communities and continue to provide a safe care environment. If you have an upcoming appointment, and have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please call your doctor’s office to discuss the best option for your care before coming into an office. If you need to make a new appointment or to see a doctor for any reason, find a doctor or call the Ascension location near you to discuss the best option for your care.

Seeking care at or visiting patients at an Ascension site of care

Our hospitals and sites of care are safe and ready for you, when you need us. If you have questions or concerns, call the facility before you arrive for an appointment or visit. You can also talk with your doctor or find a doctor and discuss the best option for your care. When COVID-19 cases and transmission rates are high in certain communities, temporary visitor rules may be put in place to align with state and local guidelines. This may also help to decrease the spread of COVID-19 and help keep our patients, families, care teams and the communities we serve safe. If you have questions about whether an Ascension hospital or facility near you may have temporary rules in place for visitors for any reason, please contact the location before visiting.

Vaccination and lowering your risk of exposure to COVID-19

Everyone is at risk to get COVID-19, though not everyone will have the same severity of symptoms. The CDC has stated that older adults, people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions, and people who are pregnant may be at higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19. The CDC recommends that everyone who is eligible stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, including people with weakened immune systems. View the CDC’s How to Protect Yourself and Others webpage for more ways to protect yourself and your family. Or talk with your doctor about vaccination and prevention at your next doctor’s visit.
