About Mariana Georgeta Varga, MD

Dr. Varga is a board-certified neurologistwho received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania where she also completed a residency in radiology. Dr. Varga subsequently fulfilled her neurology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. She then completed a two-year movement disorder fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio with a combined focus on the diagnosis and medical management of movement disorders, and microelectrode recording for brain mapping for deep brain stimulation surgery treatment of patients with Parkinsons disease, dystonia and essential tremor disorders. Before moving to Austin, Dr. Varga served as Medical Director of the Movement Disorders Clinic at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. Dr. Varga specializes in the diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of movement disorders using medication, deep brain stimulation and neurorehabilitation botulinum toxin injection. She employs clinical research as an avenue to contribute to this rapidly expanding field of medicine, with the intent of providing cutting-edge treatment for her patients.
