This class offering is a guided meditative practice called yoga nidra, which is derived from the ancient traditions of yoga. It invites participants into a deep state of relaxation on all levels, while maintaining a sense of awareness.
Studies have shown that yoga nidra has many positive effects such as helping with stress, depression, anxiety, sleep, and overall quality of life.
This class will include space for centering, sharing, setting intention, some breathing practices, and some basic gentle seated movement to help lead into the yoga nidra practice. Yoga nidra is often done while lying down but can be practiced in a seated position if one prefers and is accessible to all levels.
Classes take place at Cancer Support Services located at 8550 Naab Rd. Ste 201 Indianapolis, IN 46260.
- Mats and bolsters are available (total of 10 and are available on a first come first serve basis)
- You may bring your own mat & pillow if you prefer and it is suggested to bring a blanket/throw to cover with during the guided meditation practice.
- Please note that due to the nature of this class we will not be able to allow late entry into the class.
