AARP Smart Driver Course- Novi, MI

This course will not only raise awareness of new road design and traffic laws, it may also qualify you for a multiyear discount on your car insurance.

It never hurts to refresh your driving skills and knowledge. The award-winning AARP Smart Driver 8-hr course help millions of drivers stay confident and safe behind the wheel for as long as possible. There are no tests or driving assessments.

8 Hour Course Option - For participants who have never taken the course or for participants who have not taken the course in at least 3 years.

4 Hour Course Option - This "refresher course" is for participants that have taken the course within the last 3 years and are due to expire within 6 months. You can check with AARP if you are unsure of your last course date.

If taking the 4-hour course, the participant is responsible to ensure they have completed an initial traffic prevention course (8 hours) or a refresher course (4 hours) within the last three years. The participant is responsible to confirm with their automobile insurer they qualify for a premium discount.

You must attend the entire course to receive the completion certificate. If you are taking this course for a vehicle insurance discount, please verify with your insurance provider first.

Course cost: $20 for AARP Member, $25 for Non-Member. FREE for with AARP® Medicare Supplement Plan insured by UnitedHealthcare. Payment options: Participants may pay in-person by check made out to "AARP", cash or money order. To pay online, register on the AARP page at https://www.aarp.org/auto/driver-safety/locations/ . Funds go directly to AARP. Instructors are providing this education as a volunteer service and are not being paid by AARP.

Participants will leave with a resource filled goodie bag containing AARP promo items like a tire pressure gauge, tissues, sanitizer wipes, pen, keychain flashlight, and more, when they take the class at this site only!
