Baseline Concussion Screening

Join us at Dell Children's Specialty Pavilion to receive your Baseline Concussion Screening.

Players will participate in a computer aided test lead by our Pediatric Neuroscience team. This test will serve as a baseline in the event of a player injury. While additional tests may be required post injury, this baseline offers our care team insight into your athlete's prior cognitive function.

Test information: ImPACT neurocognitive testing is a computer-based tool used to evaluate your child's thinking skills following concussion. This information guides return to learn (academics) and clearance for return to play.

Who: Players that are 12-14 years old

Why: Baseline ImPACT testing (pre-injury) establishes individual baseline scores that can be used for comparison in the event that your child sustains a concussion (post-injury). Baseline testing takes 30-45 minutes.

Parent Education: While your child is testing, our clinical concussion team will provide education regarding prevention, identification, and early treatment of concussion.
