Virtual Childbirth Education

Looking for a comprehensive virtual childbirth class during this unprecedented time?

Our Virtual Childbirth Education Class is open to all families regardless of birth hospital. This 4-week class offers live virtual instruction with one of our Childbirth teachers. It will also utilize videos, personal birth stories, animations, activities and games to teach you all of the essential information you need to help you prepare for birth.

Topics include:

Pregnancy – body changes, discomforts, warning signs, nutrition and exercise

Labor – birth preparation, pre-labor signs, onset of labor and 3D animation of labor process

Stages of Labor – real-life birth stories

Comfort Techniques – breathing, relaxation, labor and pushing positions and advice for partners

Medical Procedures - induction and augmentation, fetal monitoring, medical pain relief, and assistance for 2nd stage

Cesarean Birth - reasons for surgical delivery, risks/benefits, the procedure and recovery

Newborns - newborn procedures, appearance, a newborn's world, SIDS prevention, choosing a Healthcare provider for baby

Postpartum - physical and emotional changes, breastfeeding basics and more


We recommend that you attend this class during the seventh or eighth month of your pregnancy, so you can best retain what you learn. We are proud to offer this program for every parent delivering at an Ascension hospital that is interested, regardless of the ability to pay. Registration is required. Class sizes are limited. The dates listed are of the FIRST class of each 4-week series.
