Building Resilience in Children and Families: A Strength-Based Approach

Presenting specialists are Dr. Hani Talebi, PhD LSSP, Director, Pediatric Psychology Texas Child Study Center | Dell Children's Medical Center and Dr Roshni L Koli, MD, Medical Director of Pediatric Mental Health at Dell Children's Medical Center.


Dell Children's Medical Center and Dell Medical School are proud to offer a series of virtual presentations to parents, families and stakeholders covering a wide array of pertinent topics related to pediatric mental health. Our integrated team of child & adolescent psychiatry and psychology specialists will offer practical psychoeducation to improve attendees' overall mental health literacy, review red flags associated with most common mental health disorders, highlight straightforward strategies to cultivate family-wide resilience, and address inquiries from participants using a contemporary, evidence-based framework.


Topics to be covered during this session include:

  • Introduction to the notion of resilience in the context of family systems
  • Importance of managing stress/anxiety during the holidays and amidst a pandemic
  • Practical strategies to build family-based resilience, now and in the future
