Saint Thomas Rutherford Newborn Care

This ONE DAY class will prepare you and your support person for what to expect during your childbirth experience at Saint Thomas Rutherford.

It is recommended to take this class sometime between the 28th-36th week of pregnancy.

  • Pre-labor Signs
  • Onset and Stages of Labor
  • Basic Comfort Measures
  • Pain Management / Epidural
  • Interventions in Labor
  • Cesarean Section

  • Newborn Appearance and Procedures
  • Newborn Care

*Couples planning to have an unmedicated, “natural” childbirth may want to attend a class that provides a greater focus on natural labor pain management such as a Lamaze or Hypnobirthing class.
