Rhythm Review Course at St. Thomas West

Review of rhythm interpretation process, rhythm identification and basic treatment options.

Description- This course provides an educational review of the rhythm interpretation process, rhythm identification, and basic treatment options. The course consists of classroom lecture and (limited) hands on practice. Independent review and study outside of class are recommended.

Class Length- One 8-hour day

Validation of learning- Electronic test; Required to be completed within two weeks of taking the class; Managers are encouraged to set up a proctored setting for their associates during testing

Prerequisites- Clinical experience with rhythm interpretation; Prior completion of the Advanced Arrhythmia Course (formerly known as the Basic Arrhythmia Course) or a comparable rhythm course

Target Audience- Experienced RNs, LPNs, and Monitor Technicians caring for patients on telemetry and/or other cardiac monitoring equipment; Associates with rhythm interpretation experience

Class Frequency- Offered quarterly; Rotated amongst the Saint Thomas Hospital campuses
